One Greece 2017: A National Philanthropic Endeavour
July 28, 2017
The Hellenic Initiative Australia is pleased to host One Greece 2017, a series of events in October 2017 across five major cities aimed at harnessing the strength and resources of the Hellenic diaspora for the benefit of Greece and its people.
More than 1,500 business and community leaders are expected to attend the events nationally, with the premier event to be held at the Sydney Town Hall on Friday, 6 October 2017.
Greece is a nation that has given much to the modern world. And yet, Greece has become a country commonly defined by the economic challenges it has faced. The Greek people, and the Greek ideal, deserve better and we, as members of the Hellenic diaspora, or simply as philhellenes, can play our part.
One Greece 2017 is a call to come together to help write a new chapter for Greece. Events will feature international speakers who share these ideals and who are currently working within Greece, with the Greek people. Both Greek and philhellene, they will share their moving experiences of the work they are doing to help Greece rebuild – from within.
The guest speakers for One Greece 2017 will include Princess Tatiana, THI International Ambassador, noted humanitarian and philanthropist, and Alexander Theodoridis, the inspirational co-founder of Boroume, an innovative food saving charity delivering outstanding results. These and other speakers will enlighten us on the selfless work being done on the ground in Greece – and what we too can do to help make a real difference.
With events in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Darwin, One Greece 2017 promises to be an engaging series of events that will raise awareness and elicit support for The Hellenic Initiative Australia’s efforts focused on crisis relief, entrepreneurship and economic development within Greece.
